An Intro of Sorts
This website is momentarily the home of the two different INTJ mailing lists, the better known currently the INTJlist@YahooGroups list, AKA the Coliseum. Less well-known is the new INTJist@intjlist.org, running from this server. sometimes referred as the Coffee-house, or Mary's living room. Unlike the Yahoo groups list, the list at intjlist.org does not have a web interface so all users will actually need to receive their mail in order to be a member. If this does not scare you, you may join us at the sign up page for INTJLIST

The subject matter of INTJ-List is completely unrestricted. The list does not exist for the purpose of discussing a particular scope of topics, but rather to provide a place in which an unusually high concentration of INTJ's can congregate and interact in any way they wish. That said, it is still to be expected that discussion will often turn on personality type and on what it means to be INTJ. This is a reflection of one strong common interest among many subscribers, not an indication of the "proper" scope of this list. This is an adult list and those under the age of 18 may be asked to leave.

Feel free to browse the site and explore. There is additional information available on the site to those who become Registered Users of this site. There is no charge to be a Registered User. This has been done to protect the privacy of those members of the mailing list who have contributed to this information.

INTJ under stress

6. May 2009 — Mary (Views: 2224)

I’ve been browsing through the old Yahoo group archives of the list, and have found some gems. Among them was the fact that a large number of INTJ folks reported that they often felt a strong desire to clean when under stress. So, now I know why I do that at times. Interestingly, it never seemed to work this way when I was a youngster - my mother kept us all stressed a good bit of the time and I never felt any great urge to clean up anything. Organized chaos rules!

The INTJ-list Charter
The subject matter of INTJ-List is completely unrestricted. The list does not exist for the purpose of discussing a particular scope of topics, but rather to provide a place in which an unusually high concentration of INTJ's can congregate and interact in any way they wish. That said, it is still to be expected that discussion will often turn on personality type and on what it means to be INTJ. This is a reflection of one strong common interest among many subscribers, not an indication of the "proper" scope of this list.

INTJ-List is a completely public mailing list. This means that anybody who is an INTJ, or who simply wishes to participate in a forum with an unusually high concentration of INTJ's, is welcome to subscribe and participate here. INTJ's reading this charter will understand without further explanation that the likelihood of the list's INTJ density becoming diluted by non-INTJ's is rather slim.

INTJ-List is a forum for adults. There is no chaperone, no shooshing librarian, no facilitator or moderator, no traffic cop, no spotter, no censor and no warden. Subscribers who are offended by the posts of other subscribers will have to find a way to deal with the situation other than appealing to a person of authority. (By the same token, the list-owner will invoke no authority over the behavior of subscribers on the list unless the technical infrastructure is in danger -- in the case of binary-bombing, for instance.) There may be subscribers who prefer to fall silent or even to unsubscribe from the list if offended (even if the offense was imagined, or real but unintentional), while other subscribers may choose to exact whatever amends for the offense they are able to. Both of these reactions, and all the possibilities in between, are valid styles of communication for this list; all such reactions are suspiciously reminiscent of real life, something INTJ-List is intended to be part of rather than outside of. INTJ-List is not a shelter for those who need protection from others, nor is it any kind of recovery group. Subscribers are here at their own risk, and are not under the protection of this charter nor of the list-owner. Persons who seek a sheltered forum may wish to look elsewhere, but everybody is welcome to give us a try.

That said, it is nonetheless necessary to recognize the exigencies of life on the Internet. There are people who could make INTJ-List useless to its subscribers, for sport (kibologists) or for perceived potential profit (spammers). Although the list-owner will not take action by fiat to defend the viability of the list against such attacks, he/she will be responsive to subscriber consensus in keeping the list intact.

INTJ-List does not accept subscriptions from mailbots or other software agents. Subscriptions which are found not to represent real persons will be cancelled.
